California Reparations: AB - 3121

In 2020, our advocates worked hard to improve and enact AB - 3121, the State law that created America's first-in-the-nation Task Force to Study and Develop Reparations Proposals for African-Americans. Now, we're working to make sure California creates strong Reparations legislation. Visit the official website of the California Reparations Task.

Recognizing Our Unique Black American Lineage: AB -1604

In 2021 and 2022, our advocates wrote language in legislation requiring California agencies to recognize the unique lineage of Black Californians who descend from U.S. Slavery and Jim Crow. Read Section 2 of AB - 1604, The Upward Mobility Act of 2022.

Ending Involuntary Servitude: ACA - 3

We continue to support grassroots efforts to finally end forced labor by removing involuntary servitude as punishment for a crime from our State Constitution. Visit www.endslaveryincalifornia.org & Read ACA-3, the Caifornia Abolition Act.
